Merit Boosts Scotland Team for Growth

Merit Holdings has made three key appointments to its Glasgow team as part of a plan to develop the company’s specialist turnkey design and build business in Scotland.

Charlie McKenzie joins the Glasgow office as Regional Managing Director along with Rob Beattie as Project Consultant and Steven Tracey as Accounts Manager. They will support the existing team, working alongside Scottish Regional Director, John Langan. The Scotland team now has over 100 years of experience that includes the successful delivery of many major multi-million construction and specialist engineering projects across the UK.

Merit’s Glasgow office is supported by a national team located at the company’s Cramlington HQ and fabrication centres and its office in London.

This initiative signals Merit’s commitment to achieving significant growth in its Scottish business over the next five years. The company enjoyed 20% growth last year and was awarded ‘company of the year’ at the 2018 North East Business Awards.

Tony Wells, Managing Director, Merit Holdings, said: “This is a significant investment in our Scottish business and creates a strong platform for our plans to deliver continued growth over the next five years. Charlie, Steven and Rob are recognised experts in their field and bring an impressive track record of success. Their skills and experience bring a major boost for the team in Scotland.”

Merit Holdings operates with its own in-house team of designers, fitters and electricians who are all specially trained for operating in highly regulated industries where quality of workmanship is vital. The highly skilled specialists are experts in specialist fabrication (including CIP skid fabrication). Their expertise and innovation provide exceptional project lifecycle delivery to clients.

Merit supplies design, construction and installation to complex industrial markets including Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Industrial Process, Data Centre, Cleanrooms, Containment and laboratory facilities. The company has completed specialist design and build projects for a wide range of customers including SGS Vitrology, Rolls Royce, GSK, Lifescan and is currently constructing 3 specialist laboratories for the British Antarctic Survey on their newest research vessel, the RSS Sir Richard Attenborough.
