Merit recently welcomed four new pipefitter welding apprentices into our 9000m2 fabrication facility in Cramlington, Northumberland. Thomas Hardy, Jack Seaman, James Lou and Adam McGuire (pictured above) are doing their apprenticeship at Merit through Tyne North Training and have successfully completed their workshop training and passed their stainless steel weld test – in an impressively quick time too! Well done to everyone involved, and a real testament to the commitment of our staff that support the apprentices throughout the year including our Labour Manager, Darren Robinson, HR Manager, Bryony Jones and our Fab Shop Supervisor, Tommy Oliver. Great work team!
Nick Small, Merit’s Operations Director, said “Merit has been running a successful apprenticeship programme here in the North East for a number of years now. Many of the apprentices are based in our fabrication facility but also get the opportunity to work on our sites. With a UK wide project portfolio that’s great exposure for people who are keen to learn and develop. A number of our managers also play a key role in supporting and nurturing the apprentices and they should be very proud of their achievements.”
